Mythical History Of Akshardham Temple

The Akshardham temple constructed by Boachasanwari Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha(BAPS).  Akshardham is a merge of two words Akshar and Sham, Akshar means eternal, and Dham means abode. The temple constructed by the team of BAPS that lead by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, which been built by 6000 tonnes of pink stones by 7000 architects for seven years.

The architecture of the Akshardham Temple

The architects of the temple are Vikram Lall, Bochasanwasi Akshar, Purushottam Swaminarayan and Sanstha, the main shrine of Akshardham temple is Swaminarayan which located at the centre of the complex.  The temple has many exhibition halls that demonstrate the lifestyle and working style of Swaminarayan.

The Akshardham temple consists of 234 carved pillars, nine domes and 20,000 swamis, devotees and acharyas and 148 elephants. Under a vast dome, the main shrine of Swaminarayan of 11 foot situated. All the shrines in the temple made up of Paanch dhaatu(five metals). The temple exhibits Sahajanand darshan, Nilkanth darshan, Sanskruti vihar and musical fountain.

Sahajanand Darshan

The Sahajanand darshan depicts the messages that delivered to the world by Swaminarayan regarding non-violence, vegetarianism, morality, prayers and family harmony. The hall also consists of a small animatronic robot.

Nilkanth Darshan

The Nilkanth darshan portraits a film for 40 minutes on a screen of 85’*65’ that describes the seven years pilgrimage period of Swaminarayan in India.

Musical Fountain
