Bhadrachalam Temple – Sri Sita Ramachnadraswamy temple is located in the town of Bhadrachalam which is on the shores of river Godavari. This is the seventh carnation of Lord Vishnu. This temple is constructed in the town of bhadrachalam which is one of the “Divya Shektrams” this temple is constructed by kancharla gopaana.
During 16th AD kancherla goppana served as tahsildhar in the reign of abul hasan qutb shah. Gopana was later named as bahktha ramadasu by one of the servants of lord Rama. Qutb Shah has ordered goppana to collect the jaziya tax which is a penalty to hindus so, Gopana decided to construct a temple for Hindus by using a portion of the tax for the construction of the temple. Finally, he constructed a temple with six lakh varahas.
